Outer Banks Bluegrass Feestival 2026

This afternoon I am at the Outer Banks Bluegrass Festival in Manteo North Carolina. We are hanging out at the opening of the festivities which includes two really great free concerts on the Manteo waterfront. Today we heard Songs From the Road Band featuring Mason Via and Monroeville. Both bands put on incredible virtuosic shows to kick off the festival. It was particularly cool to find out that Mason Via is friends with my son and we were able to connect with him after his show.

I was really knocked out by the fiddle players for both bands: Meade Richter (Songs From the Road Band)  from Boone and Skylar Gandy (Monroeville). I couldn't help but wonder if these guys are products of a school string program; 'cause man do they play well! I don't really have any other major points to make except go see live music when you can. It is so uplifting and life-giving. Today is just a true celebration and I'm so glad that we are here.

Peace.
Scott
